Oldschool Gaming is a news and review website, specifically for recent games that have been developed for classic 1980's home microcomputers and games consoles such as the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, Atari 2600 or Sinclair Spectrum. These machines and the new games produced for them are of personal interest to Jason who, as well as collaborating on the writing of new software across various 8-bit platforms and contributing to it and other retro gaming publications, including regular reviews of recently released 8- and 16-bit software for Retro Gamer magazineor on-line projects such as RGCD, acts as editor for Oldschool Gaming and generally maintains the content.

The initial version of Oldschool Gaming was originally launched in 2004 after a lengthy gestation period; since this kind of website is very much driven by it's content, a reasonably sized body of articles and reviews had to be created by the writing team before the website could properly be put onto the internet. This is now the third revision of the Oldschool Gaming website, with the most recent updates adding new functionality to make the overall maintainance of content easier and the addition of a phpBB-driven message board for visitors and writers.
