Originally constructed in 2003, the Parklands Primary School and Children's Centre website was based around a piece of black and white artwork created by one of the pupils that was provided by the school. This original image was scanned and then the bright, primary colours were added to make up the top of the page. Some components of that image were then re-used to build the side menu in order to continue the children's artwork theme throughout the site layout.

The overall design and colour scheme of this site has proved very popular with the school, so popular in fact that it has subsequently been used by them in an almost unaltered form for printed colour flyers and information folders which are sent out each year to prospective parents.
